Halloween Winners

Hey Chobots!!

After a few tough days of looking through all the Halloween contest entries, we have come to a decision. We would like to congratulate everyone who participate for their great effort and hard work, but unfortunately there can only be a few winners for each contest. Here they are:


Dress Up

Our winners for this contest are Alice and Rawan.  Congratulations, you both win a paintbrush  for your creative and spooky costume ideas! The Nichos will surely be scared of Smoochict now! Watch out!

There were quite a few other entries that impressed us, such as Peach's, but you can view them all in the slideshow below. Good effort for those who didn't make it, there's always a next time! Tell us which is YOUR favorite dress-up.

Comics
For the comic contest, we're only going to be having one winner due to the small amount of entries we received. Congrats to Blik3, who wins a comic item for his good mixture of comedy and witches!

However, we will be awarding Funnyundercover and Jaster with 5,000 bugs each for their great effort. Again, you can view all the entries in the slideshow below. Some of them are actually quite funny. Good job!









Decorate Your BlogWe received the most submissions for this contest: over 30! We had a look through all blogs and decided that the winners are Blik3 [http://www.chobotsreloaded.blogspot.com], Silverblush [http://cho-silverblush.blogspot.com/] and Maxundso [http://maxundsoblog.blogspot.com/]. 10,000 bugs and a feather to each of them. Great! If you didn't make it this time, don't worry! Thanksgiving is coming up soon so you'll have another chance.

Hello,

We hope you are all enjoying Chobots.net so far. Up to the point we are now, we have added around eight or so new locations, 15-25 new items and heap load of excitement. The reason for this is to create a fully functional game which is both exciting and fun before the official release of the game.

We'd like to let you know that we have been planning for a Public Release to happen soon, although i cannot give you a full date and time yet, we are planning to release the game sometime before the end of this year.

Just so you know we are currently in a stage called "Open Beta", all beta players will receive 1000 free bugs and a free rare item that will only be available during beta right before release! Rest assured that you will not lose any of your current player items or bugs before or after the Official Release.

We'll be releasing more information on this throughout the coming weeks. If you have any questions about the Official Release schedule please don't hesitate to email support, please understand that our staff will be busy preparing for the Official Release throughout the next few weeks.

As far as any team additions go...

Hi everyone,

We appreciate all of the emails saying you'd love to join our team, but at this moment we are not looking for any additions. Most topics have been covered and we are working on internal issues. Until solutions for these internal issues are implemented, we are not interested in increasing the size of our staff.

We will be looking for new team members when we see the need to increase due to an increase in users. Moderators are team members, only a few specialize in solely moderating. The rest contribute to the development of Chobots by using their wonderful skills. If you see someone with the moderator badge, that means that they are part of our team.

Now, if you want to help contribute to Chobots, you can do so by striving for that agent badge! A little info for you about agents...

- Currently, there are 30 agents
- 0.9% of all users on Chobots.net are agents (we'll be looking for more!)
- Agents help promote Chobots.net and keep the virtual community safe

A good way to begin is to create a blog or a YouTube channel. We love seeing how creative you can be! If you feel that you're not quite sure how to let us know about your work, you can email us at support@chobots.net or post your work within the virtual community. If we think the entire community needs to see your work, we'll even post it on the blog! Also: we love seeing drawings but we are receiving quite a bit! It's always nice to create variation and think outside the box. :)

Hi!

It's not long until Halloween now, so we decided it would be a good time to start the Halloween Contests! This time, you will be able to choose which one you want to participate in from three different contests:

- Decorate Your Blog
- Comics
- Dress Up

Decorate Your Blog
Your task is to decorate your blog for Halloween - make it spooky! You are free to modify whatever you want, but please keep it related to Halloween. We suggest you use these banners on your blog. The winners get a feather and 10,000 bugs each.

Comics
You need to create a horror comic. Make it scary! The story can be whatever you like, except it must be related to witches. You can use the template found here. Winners will receive either a comic or 20,000 bugs - it will be up to them to decide.


Dress Up
Someone has stolen all Smoochict's clothes! You need to dress him up Halloween, by drawing on him for example.. and quickly! Make them terrifying, to scare away all the Nichos! The winner will receive a paintbrush. You can use this template:

Good luck everyone! You have time until the 31st of October. To enter the contest, send in an email to support@chobots.net with the subject either "COMICS", "DRESS UP", or "DECORATE", depending on which contest you have decided to participate in, and attach your entry.

Today we are introducing the blogroll to the official blog. Through this list, you will be able to view the top Chobots.net blogs. However, in order to get on the official blogroll, your blog must meet with the following requirements:

- The blog must be updated at least twice per week.

- The blog must be related to Chobots.

- The blog must not contain inappropriate content.

- The blog must have a link to www.chobots.net on the main page.

- The blog must have self-written posts (not copied from the official blog).

The Twitter Contest will end Friday. The reason for it ending a few days early is due to the overwhelming amount of chobots who did not bring a new user. As stated on the Twitter Contest website, there will be 3 winners. These people will get their prizes tomorrow. The contest officially ends Friday, October 21 2011 at 5:00 Mountain Time Zone (US).

Also, we'll be releasing a few new items Friday evening (in the US).

• first place gets a 6 month citizenship, 50 000 bugs, and the rare bird hat!
• second place gets a 3 month citizenship, 25 000 bugs, and the rare bird hat!
• third place gets a 45 day citizenship, 12 500 bugs and the rare bird hat!
• participants who get at least 1 friend to sign up get 1 000 bugs

How it works: Go to the contest site, click "sign up" to sign up for the contest, then you will be given your own customized URL. Tweet this URL. If people join Chobots with your URL, you will get points! A live score board will be posted later in the week to see who is winning. :)

Open Beta Information

There seems to be a lot of confusion since we began Open Beta, so let's clear that up!

We have removed all clothes on accounts that were gained during private beta, this was because many private beta users were able to buy items that we normally wouldn't offer in the Shop, this was because our catalogs were not organized. We thought that it would be unfair to those who register after private beta, to not have those items just because they didn't join early.

All private beta participants have free citizenship for a month. (starting today) All open beta participants will not receive free citizenship, however we will be announcing plans on how to become a citizen soon.

During the transfer from private to open beta, some private beta accounts were corrupted in the system, not allowing you to login. We're very sorry about this. If your account was corrupted, email us at support@chobots.net, and we can add free citizenship to your new account you decide to register.

Anyways, hope this clears up some confusion, play on!
