Journalist Updates

Greetings, Chobots!

In April we introduced a program called the "Journalist Program" -- once approved by the mods, players who owned their own blog were able to join this group of elite bloggers, and received benefits such as having their blog enlisted in the blogroll, and a very cool badge on their playercards. This program was immediately a success; many Chobots started working hard on their blogs to make sure it met all the requirements to be able to join the program.

The moderators were astonished at all the creative and amazing blogs that were created by Chobots, and to make sure everyone got an equal chance at being a Journalist, moderators asked bloggers to submit their blog at the beginning of each month. Over time it appeared that only the same people became journalists every month, and that those with not much design experience didn't stand a chance! The mods also noticed how the Journalists didn't get enough perks and rewards for having such amazing blogs.

That is why we decided to step it up with the Journalist program. Beginning in the new year, we are launching the next version of the Journalist program. The basics are still the same: in the beginning of each month you submit your blog and if it's approved, you will be enrolled in the program. However, there are new requirements that need to be fulfilled in order to become a Journalist, and of course new perks!

From now on, we are no longer looking at the design and activeness of the blog, but at the content. We will no longer accept blogs that just paraphrase posts from the official blog. Instead, we are focusing on the creativity, originality and overall writing/blogging skills of the authors. This means that you have to use your own creativity to create original content that appeals to the readers. You could, for example, write diary entries, publish interviews, write stories, collect information, report gossip/news 24/7... anything! Your blog does not necessarily need to contain all the latest updates, however it needs to be related to Chobots somehow.


Some of the revised perks of being a Journalist includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Journalist badge on your playercard with your blog title
- The possibility for your blog to be featured on the play page
- Your blog will be featured on the Official Blog
- Moderators will bookmark your website!
- You will be invited to write one blog post on the Official Blog.
- You will be added to an exclusive mailing list to receive all the behind-the-scenes information and news before anyone else does
- One free week of citizenship in the beginning of the month.
- Automatically receive the feather item
- PC moderators even though their card is blocked
- Purple nametag

Of course, the list is incomplete as we will be adding more and more perks to the Journalist program as time goes by.

Now that you've been informed about the new Journalist program, you can start preparing your blog as submissions will start on the 2nd of January, 2013. Remember: be creative and original. Your blog is a symbol of all your hard work and commitment, and you can use it to keep track of your journey.

Scrapbook-Video Contest

Hey Chobots!

The end of 2012 and the beginning of 2013 is approaching quickly. The Chobots world has grown a lot as this year has seen many changes occurring, both in the community and the game itself. The last contest for this year will need you to think about what 2012 has taught you and all the fun events that took place in Chobots.

If you want to take part in the contest, your assignment is to create either a scrapbook page or a video about Chobots in 2012. You can, for example, talk about:
- The release of Chobots
- Samantha!
- February Dance Party
- St. Patrick's Day
- April Fools' Day Circus
- Easter
- Smilefest
- Albert's Space Race
- The Auction House
- The "Like" Party
- 1st Birthday!!
- Halloween
- Saturday Game Night
- 12/12/12
- Christmas
- Many more!

If you're making a video, you can make a slideshow of what happened and include commentary, or you could be creative and make your own small movie. It's all up to you to decide how you want to present the year! If you have not been in Chobots for a long time yet, you can either make a scrapbook about your experiences so far or you can do a video about Christmas on Chobots.

There will be two winners for each contest -- the prizes for include a new playercard colour, citizenship, paintbrush for scrapbook winners, camera for video winners, and bugs. Everyone who enters will receive bugs, so if you did not win, you receive a small reward for your effort. Also, the video in 1st place will be featured at Chollywood!

Click here for the scrapbook template. You can save it to your computer and use a program to edit, or you can print it out and decorate it in real life! Once you're finished, comment the link to your video or scrapbook page on this blog post. You have until 12:00 AM Cho-Time on the 2nd of January, so get started!

It's Raining Coins and... Bells?

Hello Chobots!

While you guys are finishing up your Christmas Comics, we have opened up a Coin Rain Contest for this weekend!

For those who don't know where the Coins Rain game is, you can find in the Café.

In other news, Santa has been spotted around Chobots, looking for some of his lost bells that he dropped on his route.

Boys & Girls Ending The World!

Hello Chobots,

Christmas is nearby, and I was thinking, that before all the wild Christmas parties that we are going to have, we should host a nice theme-party, that is, if the world doesn't end!

Many users have suggested this idea, and we finally accomplished to host this party! We are going to party on December 21st, at 18:00 (6PM), and at 21:00 (9 PM) Cho-Time. Boys, meet me, Yaniv, at the Dudes Chil Zone, and girls, meet Koiz at the Girls Hangout.

Other staff will be popping in throughout the party, so keep your eyes open!

If you don't know how to get to there, here are some instructions: From the Café Street go forward, to the Mission Agency. You will see a big building with a satellite dish on its top. Continue forward until you are in a place with a giant statue and a rope. This is the Rope Street. Go to the right, and go inside the Academy.
Now, girls, continue to walk to the right. Boys, you have to go to the bottom right spot of the room - the entrance to the Dudes Chill Zone is there. If it is too confusing for you, use the following map. Boys, follow the blue way. Girls, follow the pink way.


We are going to have some different kind of magic at the party - color changes, animations, body changes, some music and maybe even some rain!

After a while, we will combine the parties, and we will party together, at the Party Area.

Stylish Chobots

Hello Chobots,

As I was walking through the city of Chobots, I couldn't help but notice some amazing Christmas/Winter outfits! Here are a few that stood out from the rest.




 I really liked how Mactercheif combined his giariffe hat with his beanie. It looks like the reindeer he is dressing up as has some ears! I also like the great red and green Christmas colors he is wearing! Great job.

Program is definitely getting ready for the winter season. I love the colors she chose. They represent winter quite nicely. The teddy bear also looks very cute with her outfit. Good work.

I love how Fwuffy is dressed up as one of  Santa's helpers. I love the use of the color  red and her outfit looks very neat. The
paintbrush also reminds me of how Santa's helpers like to create stuff. Great job!

Supportful's outfit looks very cool. I love how he made his jacket stand out from the rest of his outfit. The color blue matches his outfit quite nicely and I love how every part of his chobot is covered. Well done.

Spencer20 looks like he will be warm this winter. His jacket goes along well with his ice magic and ice shard wings from the $hop. I also like how he used the color blue. It's very effective. Good job.







Sharpiemadness' outfit looks simple, but effective. It really shows the fashion of winter with just a few different items. Her jacket matches her skirt very nicely. I also love how she separated the red between the blue. Nice work!

This week, I am going to be looking for chobots dressing up in some Christmas colors! Here is an idea I came up with.

Game Night Winners

Wow, that was a wild night!
More than 100 people were online, and most of them were playing games and trying very hard to win the contests.

Before the actual game night, Me (Yaniv), Zoo, Koiz, Nathan, Iboy, Strawberry and Elvio hosted a small party with some magic - animations, color changes, some rain and few songs that were played by DJ Nathan. Here are some pictures from the party:

Game Night!

Hello Chobots!

After few quite weeks, without any game nights, we are going to host a game night, tomorrow!
We are going to play every game around the Chobots world, participate in the contests, and win some cool prizes like the game controller, some bugs, and maybe a couple of citizenships for a few days!

12/12/12 Parties Review

Hello Chobots,

Wow, it was a very special day today - December 12th, 2012, also known as 12/12/12.
Did something special happened to you today? If you didn't do anything special, you should know that the next time when you will open your calendar and will see a date like that will be in 100 years.

Anyways, as stated few posts ago, we were having a 12/12/12 party today.
We started the Party at the Park with Zoo, Yaniv, Koiz, Max and Nathan, and then we move to many different locations. Here are some pictures from the parties:

At the party, we had some very colorful magics, winter animations, a spaceship flight, some cool songs, an array of colors, and some rain. We rained a very special item - the 12-12 glasses!


I hope that everyone had fun tonight. We will be having more parties like these in the future, so be sure to attend!

Journalists Wanted!

Hello Chobots,

Recently, Zach has been working on a new application form for Chobots who would like to join the journalists program.

The journalists program awards different bloggers that blog about Chobots.
Their sites should contain an eye appealing template, unique posts, and possibly some creative gadgets.
Every journalist will be awarded with a journalist - badge that will be placed in the bottom right corner of your player card, and his/her blog will be added to the blogroll that we have here on the main blog.

The process of becoming a journalist is not so simple; to become a journalist, you will have to follow at least 2 of the following requirements:

•      Your blog shouldn't be "simple" - it should have a great design (a
       template and a header), and some cool gadgets in it.
•      Your posts on the blog should be creative and unique - you have to write
       your own posts, not just copy them from a different source like the
       official blog. Even though, you are free to use the pictures that have
       been used in the posts on the Official Blog.
•      Be active on the in-game community: Be nice to each other, assist users
       who require any kind of assistance and be aware of all the latest news
       and stuff that happen.
•      Be active on our different Community Pages - comment on posts
       that we post here on the official blog, post and comment on the forum,
       tweet and reply to tweets by the official Chobots Twitter page, and
       comment / post stuff on the timeline of the official Chobots Facebook
       page.
•      Update: Your blog should be updated at least twice a week.

As stated above, Zach has been working on a new application form for Chobots who would like to join the journalists team. If you think that you follow at least 2 of the requirements above, you can apply from here:

We've noticed drawing contests are pretty popular, so we decided to hold a winter drawing contest. To enter you must draw at least one of the four staff members listed below.
