Calling All Agents

Attention, Agents!

We're going to have a meeting on February the 2nd. In this meeting we will discuss agent recommendations, suggestions, latest news, feedback, etc.

If you are an agent, it is not mandatory that you attend, but we highly recommend it. We can easily see who is the most dedicated by looking at who comes to the meetings!

Before the meeting starts, please think of two users you would like to recommend, and why. You must be able to explain your recommendations! We'd also suggest you make a list of bugs or suggestions you would like to notify the team of.


There will be two meetings, one at 1 PM ChoTime and another one at 11PM ChoTime. It will be on the most empty server!

Valentine's Day Art

Hello artists!

It's been a while since we've had a drawing contest, so the Chobots Team has decided to hold a Valentine's Day drawing contest. To enter you must draw at least one of the four staff members listed below. You have until Saturday, 2nd of February to submit your drawing in a comment on this post.

                                                                                                         

                                                              

Make sure to include something related to Valentine's Day in your drawing. The drawings will be judged on creativity, so try to be as creative as you can! The winners will be awarded with some sweet prizes.

Hello everyone, it's me Markl77!

For my post, I've decided to share some of the tricks and things on making your Chobots blog one of the best. Let's begin!

Here are some posting tips:

•    Use good grammar you're going to want people to understand you. So use capitals, periods etc to make your post worth the time.
•    Try to be interesting no one wants to read something where you repeatedly say "and this and this and this....." do they? Try being as interesting as you can ;)
•    Start off nicely if you start the post, and end it nicely, then people will want to comment. Or read it again.
•    Include a picture or two pictures make the post look nice. And, it makes it so people can see what's going on, and not just the words! 
•    Try adding some humor who doesn't like to laugh? Humor makes the post worth reading, but remember to keep the joke appropriate.
•    Try adding events interviews, contests, anything. 
•    Post don't ever stop posting on your blog, even if you aren't a Journalist, you never need to give up.
•    Sign off when you end a post, it's very normal to have a sign off. It can be a signature, your name, etc.

Here are some template tips:

•    Have a color scheme almost every blog has a color scheme, I normally like to choose 2 colors and then decorate it like that. Don't choose too many or it may look like a mess. Or a rainbow.
•    Have a cool background any background is cool, I like having mine match up with a color in the theme.
•    Have an interesting, and awesome header if you have a header, it will basically show what people are going to see on your blog. Headers make blogs look even better.
•    Have a favicon that represents your blog if you look at your blog tab, they have an icon. That's a Favicon, make one of those. And make it represent your blog in some way.

Good luck, I can see every blogger becoming a Journalist. You just need to try, keep trying and don't give up! I, myself have achieved Journalism at my blog at marklchobots.blogspot.ca.

Creative Story Contest Winners

Hello Chobots!

The Creative Story Contest from the Chobots.net Forum has ended! Many Chobots participated and everyone's entry was amazing, but there can only be 3 winners and these stories really caught our eyes!

Congratulations to Eggs, Jhadow, and Swifter. You 3 did an excellent job in writing your stories! Let's take a look at their stories!

Eggs

The world of chobots had been around since 2008. All the chobots play each and every day. But little do the chobots know, that each of the locations on chobots, have their own life too. The Cafe, The Gamezone, The shop, They all have cho energy inside of them who keep them working and safe.This is their story. The cafe sat in cafe st feeling chuffed as usual, She was always the most popular, even in the start of chobots, She was always the most visited and the most loved. The game zone across from the cafe, He had also always been popular in the old days, the main way to get money, but he had started to get less and less people coming to his location, each and every day, so called the space racing at the cinema is becoming popular he thought he was so happy for the few people who actually came, yet he was so sad as well because he knew, one day that no one would come at all. Gamezone looked over at the cafe where some chobots where looking at the cafe “I love the Café!” Said an girl with blue chat.  “Me too Eggs! It's my favourite!” Said Drytoby They both always stood next to the cafe. As well as many others. Gamezone suddenly felt jealous. Very jealous.  "Come on Games" He said to his 4 games he had left (As the other had broken) "Get packing, We're going on a little holiday". As the sun set over the 3 cities of chobots, Gamezone did something that was unforgivable. The sun rose over the city of chobots and everyone traveled to cafe st, just as cafe woke up. To... Everyone was shocked. “Where is the Gamezone?” Said Eggs and everyone started to question what would had happened to it. Suddenly a moderator bursed through the crowd to see the gamezones. He said: "Maybe is we shout for the game zone to come back, it will come back! So everyone shouted As loud as they could. Until, on the far side of chobots, the gamezone (who was being invisible so no one could see him escaping) heard the screams. His powers to be invisible slowly wore off and a chobot spotted him and called the moderator, who moved him back to cafe st. Everyone was so happy Do not doubt that no one loves you at any time. Because you will always be wrong.

Jhadow

There was a chobot, who loved to help other chobots, but despite this he was unfortunately very clumsy. Chobots hated him because of his clumsiness. One day, he traveled to the famous chobots scientist to help him cure his clumsiness. Along his way, he helped so many chobots, from new to very old chobots, those chobots did not even thank him, but they tried to discourage him from going to meet the scientist when they see his clumsiness. But he kept on going. When he got there, the scientist sent him home. When he got home, he finally understood that he just needed more efforts, and the clumsiness is what truly makes him a chobot. So he just continued living, with or without the clumsiness.

Swifter

A long time ago, on a cold dark night, a Chobot named Swifter was splashing his feet through the puddles at Cafe Street. He looked down at his reflection in the puddle beneath him. The puddle rippled as the rain splashed on it. A drop of rain  ran down his pale face and fell into the puddle below. Swifter dropped the pebble he had picked up earlier in to the puddle. It rippled and his reflection became blurry. The outline of something wearing a dark cloak appeared in front of him. Swifter turned around as the wind ruffled through his curled, wet hair. There was no-one there. A few hours later his grand-father clock struck 12.  Swifter led in his bed staring at his cold, damp feet. He took a glimpse out the window in front of him. He saw nothing but the trees swaying in the wind, and the drizzle of rain splashing up the window. His eyes began to close, and he drifted off. Swifter awoke to a bright flash. When he woke, he discovered he was sweating. He got up out of bed and gazed out the window. He looked down after catching a glimpse of a bright light. But, when he looked, he spotted something he'd never seen before. Something he never wanted to see. It was a Nicho, staring up towards the window. It's bright yellow eyes glaring into Swifter's. Then, the Nicho  dissapeared in front of his eyes. Swifter span around as a drop of sweat ran down his cheek. The last thing he saw was the Nicho stood in his doorway. Then, Swifter awoke. It was all a dream.

Hello Chobots! BlueZoroGirl13 here!

    I have decided to write a guide. A guide about style! Most of you chobots, want to look cool don't you? Well here is your chance! 

The whole key to fashion, is randomness. Think outside the box! Create your own look! It makes you more unique! So here are my tips!

Tips! (:

~Don't wear dark colors.

~ Make sure you have a touch of light in it.

~Like how I'm wearing a Black sweatshirt, I put a turquoise scarf over it. 

~Make sure you have a hand item, it doesn't matter what it is. It adds to the randomness! 

~ Wear something on your back, (flag, wings, backpacks....etc.) But make sure it somewhat matches. Like, If I wore a blue sweatshirt, I'm not going to put on a brown teddy bear. 

~Black, and white matches about everything, so I would pick one of the two! 

~If you wear a scarf, make sure your shoes are the same color, or once again black or white.

January Game Night

Hey Chobots,

It has been a while since we hosted a game night, and I think that it is time to host another one!
One of my favorite games around the Chobots world is space racing, so why not start the game night there?

What a party!

Hi Chobots, and happy Monday!

This past weekend the party with VirtualWorldClub was very exciting and very thrilling! We gave out quite a few citizenships, rained a lot of fun stuff, lots of magic, and of course -- gave out a lot of VirtualWorldClub (VWC) shirts!

Hey Chobots! 

I know you all want to become a journalist on Chobots because it's fun and really epic!

In fact, a few people always ask me "How do I become a Journalist?" and because I am a Journalist, I know the best tips on how to become one! So, today I thought I will share my tips with you ALL! :D

So, here are my tips: 

Tip 1. Make sure you have a blog that is at least 3 weeks old!

Tip 2. Make it stand out! Add lots of color, pictures, and be creative!

Tip 3. Never copy the posts from the main blog!

Tip 4. Post at least 4 days a week, so your blog is active! :D

Tip 5. Make sure it is 100% related to Chobots, not 99%, 100% is better! :D

Tip 6. Make sure you have a great header and template!! 

Good Luck everyone! I hope you get in next time, and get the awesome Journalist Badge! :D

Are you ready to party!?

Greetings, it's been a while since we've had a big party on Chobots, so we've teamed up with VirtualWorldClub to bring you a huge party this Saturday at 21:30!

Most of the Chobots Team will be at the party, and will be giving away citizenship, bugs, items, and lots of rain!

I hope you guys can attend. Here's a countdown clock so you don't miss it!!

Surprise Party!

Hey Chobots,

How was the masquerade party? I hope that everyone enjoyed it! If you didn't have a chance to attend to the party, don't worry -- We are going to have another special party tomorrow!

If you didn't know... tomorrow is a very special day for one of our staff - tomorrow is their birthday. Can you guess who?

Here's a few hints: he likes the colour blue, he likes to play virtual worlds, and he's an administrator at Chobots. Did you guess it? That's right, it's Zoo's birthday!
We want to host a surprise party for Zoo, but we will need your help! We're going to party in the Party Area (wait at the Café Street until you will be moved) tomorrow, January 12th, at 2:30 pm Cho-time.

Sweet Battle Masquerade Party!

Hey Chobots!

Our Masquerade party was so cool. We saw so many Chobots wearing their animal, human, and alien masks at the party today.

We gave out citizenship, bugs, and had a lot of rain -- including the new Café street background!

Masquerade

Hey Chobots,

Wow, so it's finally 2013! Lets hope that this will be a great and better year for everyone.

I was thinking, what is the best way to start the year with...? And then an idea hit me - A massive and and a rocking party!

That's why we are going to have a Masquerade!

We are going to party at the Eco Street, on Friday, January 11th, at 9pm (21:00) Cho-time.

Also, you'll have to bring a mask of your own with you. You can use any kind of a mask you own, such as animal masks, anime masks, alien masks, or any others you'd like. You'll need a mask to enter the contests we will hold!

Game Night

Hey!

For many of us it is the last weekend before returning to school, so why don't we end our winter (or summer) breaks with a bang?! We'd really like for you to join us for a game night!

As you can see from the picture above, the game night will start at 9PM at the Gamezone. 'Game night' on Chobots means that all the games are in competition mode for a few hours, and each game will have a winner! It would be really nice if you came and participated in all the competitions. You wouldn't want to miss it.

For those of us who are already back to school, you can celebrate the new semester and all the tough school work, late nights spent studying and early mornings that are coming up. Yay?

Testing Program

Hey guys!

In the Chobots team, the developers are constantly working on making new features and adding tons of stuff to the game. To avoid creating any errors on the main website while developing, we made a copy of the Chobots.net game and put it on another website. On this new website we can develop all we want without it affecting your account!

Of course it's great to have a server all to ourselves where we can make updates without bothering anyone. However, it can get a little bit frustrating at times because there is no one to help test these updates, which is why you sometimes see glitches or bugs! Developers are so busy that they can't thoroughly test every single update.

This is where our amazing and helpful players step in. We need your help to test the updates and to make sure the game is ready before everyone else sees the updates. If you think you're the right person for the job, you can apply by sending 'Jake' a private message on the forum (you should know how to do this if you want to be a tester). We will only be choosing a small group of people to become a tester, but it will change every now and then so that everyone gets a chance.

If you are going to apply, make sure that you have enough free time and that you are online often. You should have a good eye and able to offer your opinion on the newest updates. You should also know how to keep a secret!

Hi guys!

January Journalists

Hi Chobots!

After spending a good few hours looking through every blog that was submitted, we decided on the new Journalists for January. Of course, it was a very difficult decision to make -- there were so many blogs with absolutely amazing designs, but not enough content! It was clear that our Chobots put a lot of effort into their blogs and as a team we are very proud, so we would like to congratulate all of you for having wonderful blogs.

Without further ado, here are the first Journalists of the year:
Peace - Along with being able to write quality posts, Peace has a very informative and useful 'Fun' page on her blog filled with interviews, tutorials, videos, etc.
Nightmare - Nightmare covers a lot of topics in his posts that relate directly to the Chobots community. He could focus more on adding pages and widgets to his blog.
David09 - David09 runs a German blog which covers all the latest news of Chobots. It can be very informative for the German users. He could add a section for new players to his blog.
Markl77 - Mark runs a blog with his sister full of funny posts about all sorts of things. He also has useful guides for those who might need it.
Maxie123 - With a very fun and playful blog, Maxie keeps everyone informed and entertained. She has also done interviews and written stories which are well worth the read.
Bluezorogirl13 - Also having stories and interviews on her blog, BlueZoroGirl often writes new posts about what she has experienced on Chobots and what her day was like.
Thomas - Running a whole website takes a lot of commitment, and Thomas has taken up that challenge with The Chobots Galaxy, where he maintains an informative blog.
Funnyguy2 - Funnyguy is quite the Journalist; we've seen him posting on several blogs as well as his own. He keeps his blog fresh with the latest updates and events in Chobots.

Congratulations! Journalists, have done a fantastic job with your blogs and we are very pleased. This is not the end of the road for you in terms of being a Journalist, however. It's still required that you update your blog frequently according to the Journalism criteria mentioned in this post. The moderators will visit your blog often to see your new posts and what changes you've made.

For the rest of those that didn't quite make it, don't sweat! There were so many others that we wanted to include but we were not able to because they were lacking only a few things. We realized that you have not had a lot of time to prepare your blogs for the new Journalist program, which is why we are going to look for more Journalists in two weeks. During these two weeks, you can think of new ideas, fine-tune your blog, and get inspiration from the current Journalists! Don't even think about giving up yet - those who work the hardest will be rewarded the most.

Also, moderators will also be commenting on Journalist posts, and we suggest you do the same. If we see that you are being really active in terms of commenting on blogs and reading other posts, we will reward you.

Forum Legends

Have you heard about the Chobots Forum yet? It's a place outside the game where you can have discussions with friends about nearly anything! Chobots staff also frequently visit the forum to chat with other players, start petitions/polls and mainly to have fun; sometimes we post sneak peeks of upcoming builds! Through the forum, you can get to know other Chobots and make new friends.

It's really easy to sign up to the forum. Simply click on the link, http://chobots.net/forum/, and follow the instructions where it says 'Register'. Once you've made your account, you're ready to introduce yourself in the 'Introductions' section of the forum. Don't be shy -- the Chobots on the forum are really nice!

Now, the forum has existed for nearly a year, and we've seen many people come and go. However, we've also noticed those few users who stuck with us through thick and thin. We've decided to reward them with a badge to show off their remarkable achievement in the Chobots community. These users are:

Hi Chobots! Happy New Year!

It's time to open up submissions for the new version of the Journalist program. In case you haven't yet read the post that explained it all, click here.

A Chobots Journalist is a player who has been recognized by the moderators for having an astounding blog. These players receive extra benefits/perks to show off their accomplishments. Becoming a Journalist requires a lot of work, which is why they get so many rewards! Some of them include:


- Journalist badge on your playercard with your blog title
- The possibility for your blog to be featured on the play page
- Your blog will be featured on the Official Blog
- Moderators will bookmark your website!
- You will be invited to write one blog post on the Official Blog
- You will be added to an exclusive mailing list to receive all the behind-the-scenes information and news before anyone else does
- One free week of citizenship in the beginning of the month.
- Automatically receive the feather item
- PC moderators even though their card is blocked
- Purple nametag to distinguish yourself
