Updated Rules

Dear Chobots,

Update 8/25/2013: We have reinstated "No Dating" as a rule on Chobots.

Through a few internal meetings and Council gatherings, the Chobots Team concluded that the official rules had to be revised. The administration spent a lengthy amount of time determining which rules to modify or omit and, after consulting a select group of Chobots, decided to invalidate (remove) the following rules:

Advertising - Discussing/promoting websites that do not necessarily relate to Chobots.
Asking for agency - Asking a moderator to receive the agent badge without working for it.
Asking for items - Begging/annoying other users for their valuable items.
Controversial discussion - Talking about subjects regarding religion and sexuality.
Gifting - Begging/annoying other users for free gifts.

Evolving the Chobots rules comes at a time in which we are seeing growth and an increase of maturity within the community, and thus the administration deemed it was appropriate for the rules to reflect the primary user age-group and to provide a more sensible gameplay for our users.

We've said it many times before, and we'll say it again: Chobots is a world run by the community, for the community. The Chobots Team is here to provide the community with friendly support and to ensure everybody can enjoy themselves in a safe environment; we do not exist to police your thoughts, control your actions, or to restrict your social freedom. It is your own responsibility to recognise the difference between right and wrong.

While your account might no longer be punished as a result of violating these rules, your actions still be frowned upon by the community. Please keep in mind that moderators still reserve the right to indefinitely suspend your account for acting out of order and/or disrupting other players' gameplay, even if you broke a rule that has been invalidated.
